Atlanta-Based PR and Planning Firm Expands Again

Riah Lawry Will Support VALEO’s Growing Media Relations and Public Affairs Work

Atlanta, GA (January 18, 2016) – VALEO is kicking off the new year by welcoming Associate Riah Lawry to the VALEO team to support the company’s continued growth in media relations and public affairs.

Riah is a rare communications professional who brings writing, graphic design, social media and corporate employee engagement experience to the table in a public relations world that currently emphasizes specialization.

“We are a lean firm that launched in 2014 with a handful of projects but grew into a client roster of Payments and Construction corporations, trade associations and nonprofits in 2015 that garnered significant media attention and built meaningful connections to business groups, elected officials and thoughts leaders to drive policy and economic development,” said Michael P. Mills, VALEO’s Managing Partner. “That growth necessitated we kickoff 2016 by hiring a multi-talented, savvy professional like Riah who just also happens to have a passion for communications honed in the corporate sector.”

Most recently, Riah supported the strategic communications initiatives and employee engagement efforts of Axiall Corporation, a global chemicals manufacturing company based in Atlanta. Riah’s team successfully launched and grew a company-wide employee recognition program and promoted a culture of safety through compelling stories via print and digital campaigns.

At Red Ventures, a fast-paced marketing and technology company awarded one of the Best Places to Work in Charlotte, N.C., Riah collaborated with team members on brand management, media relations, social media, employee engagement and event planning. Her efforts led to an expanded social media presence and community involvement through local events and media engagement.

Riah earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism and media communications with a minor in public relations from Asbury University, where she was heavily involved in her student newspaper and spent a summer in London working as a media liaison at the 2012 Olympics.

Riah will initially support Worldpay US, the American Transaction Processors Coalition, Gideon’s Promise and VALEO’s marketing efforts.
